The City of Hamilton
Located in the Waikato region of New Zealand’s northern island, Hamilton is an inland city that has been built up around the famous Waikato River, the longest river in the country. Being developed along the river and its mainland position means that Hamilton is also one of the most beautiful cities in the country, and a must for many of the tourists that visit the country.
The river has effectively cut the city in half, and the east and west districts have taken up personalities of their own, with the Hamilton casino being a central hub of entertainment. On the west side of the river is the CBD of the city, and where most of the shopping and entertainment can be found. On the east side is the University of Waikato, meaning that the east side of the city has a large student population, making it extremely vibrant and on the go.
